Pakihi at Pakihi Station

Site Info:
The Pakihi water level and rainfall recorder is situated in the upper Otara catchment approximately 6 km upstream of the streams confluence with the Te Waiti catchment.
Summer water levels at this site can get as low as 0.84 metres, but normal water levels are closer to 1.3 metres. A high flood level of 4.0 metres was recorded at this site in October 2003.
The site records a mean annual rainfall of 2200 mm and daily falls of up to 230 mm.
