Waioeka at Mouth of Gorge


Site Info:
The Waioeka at Mouth of Gorge water level and rainfall recorder is situated at the bottom of the Waioeka Gorge. The site is operated for the flood warning and management purposes.
Summer water levels at this site can get as low as -0.2 metres, but normal water levels are closer to 0.5 metres. A high flood level of 6.76 metres was recorded in July 1998.
The site records a mean annual rainfall of 1580mm and daily falls of up to 150mm.
