Kaituna Wetland

Site Info:
Wetlands are an important resource within the Bay of Plenty. Once covering extensive areas throughout the country, wetlands are now some of the rarest and most at risk ecosystems in New Zealand.
The water level in the Kaituna wetland is monitored to ensure water levels are kept at an appropriate level that provides for the natural functions of the wetland and has regard to adjacent landowners.
